چکیده

* Corresponding author. Abstract – Earth Observation (EO) data in combination with environmental data enables the extraction of important information for environmental management. There is a strong need in standardized and quality controlled data sets and reliable data analysis routines. Recent developments and established work flows at German Aerospace Center (DLR) include standardized pre-processing routines for geometric and atmospheric correction as well as deduced quality information parameter for different optical airborne and space borne sensor systems. A comparison of various scene-optimized pre-processing options to the standardized procedure shows little benefits, contrary it worsens the results when efforts for high quality reference data are not undertaken. The effect of low quality topographic data in illumination correction is shown. Based on a comprehensive hyperspectral data set an environmental assessment of acid mine drainage related pollution sources, pathways and pollution receptors is aspired. An overview of first analyses steps and current activities to resolve encountered problems is given.

Overlap-based feature weighting: The feature extraction of Hyperspectral remote sensing imagery

Hyperspectral sensors provide a large number of spectral bands. This massive and complex data structure of hyperspectral images presents a challenge to traditional data processing techniques. Therefore, reducing the dimensionality of hyperspectral images without losing important information is a very important issue for the remote sensing community. We propose to use overlap-based feature weigh...

Sub-pixel classification of hydrothermal alteration zones using a kernel-based method and hyperspectral data; A case study of Sarcheshmeh Porphyry Copper Mine and surrounding area, Kerman, Iran

Remote sensing image analysis can be carried out at the per-pixel (hard) and sub-pixel (soft) scales. The former refers to the purity of image pixels, while the latter refers to the mixed spectra resulting from all objects composing of the image pixels. The spectral unmixing methods have been developed to decompose mixed spectra. Data-driven unmixing algorithms utilize the reference data called...

Investigating Alteration Zone Mapping Using EO-1 Hyperion Imagery and Airborne Geophysics Data

Hyperspectral remote sensing records reflectance or emittance data in a large sum of contiguous and narrow spectral bands, and thus has many information in detecting and mapping the mineral zones. On the other hand, the geological and geophysical data gives us some other fruitful information about the physical characteristics of soil and minerals that have been recorded from the surface. ...

High performance of the support vector machine in classifying hyperspectral data using a limited dataset

To prospect mineral deposits at regional scale, recognition and classification of hydrothermal alteration zones using remote sensing data is a popular strategy. Due to the large number of spectral bands, classification of the hyperspectral data may be negatively affected by the Hughes phenomenon. A practical way to handle the Hughes problem is preparing a lot of training samples until the size ...
